Former MLB player turned manager Alex Cora’s wife, Nilda Cora, has already divorced him.  However, they both take partnership in taking care of their daughter.

Jose Alexander Cora, popular as , is a former infielder and current baseball manager who manages the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame in 2006.

Alex previously spent 14 seasons in MLB, playing with the Boston Red Sox, Cleveland Indians, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, Washington Nationals, and Texas Rangers.

He worked as a color analyst in baseball for ESPN and ESPN Deportes from February 2013 through November 2016. Also, he carried the World Series trophy to his birthplace, Caguas, on November 3, 2018, after winning the 2018 World Series. 

When the Houston Astros won their first World Series in 2017, Cora, who had retired as a player, was the team’s bench coach. After that season, Alex was hired as manager of the Boston Red Sox, winning a franchise-record 108 games and taking the team to a World Series victory in 2018.

He is the fifth manager in MLB history who won the World Series in his debut season and the first Puerto Rican to lead a World Series-winning team.

The Red Sox manager asserted responsibilities for Jeriel after the marriage, even adopting him and naming him (Jeriel Cora), despite the fact that he is not Jeriel’s biological father.

Alex and Nilda share a daughter named Camila Cora. Alex is a very caring father. In May 2026, he was absent from one of the games to attend his daughter’s high school graduation ceremony in Puerto Rico. 

Speaking to the , Alex said,

“It’s probably the biggest day of my life to be able to see Camila graduate from high school. It’s amazing. She’s actually the life of our family, the vibe of our family, and she’s the leader of our family.” 

Although Nilda and Alex are no longer together, both are doing well for themselves. While Nilda keeps her personal life discrete, Alex is explicit about his feelings for his new partner, Angelica Feliciano.

Alex is currently engaged to Angelica, with whom he shares a home in Boston’s affluent enclave of Chestnut Hill. On July 21, 2017, the couple gave birth to twin sons, Xander Gabriel and Islander Manuel.
