Anfernee Simons ties NBA record to end Trail Blazers losing streak

Portland Trail Blazers faced Indiana Pacers on Tuesday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
The Blazers had a five-game losing streak while the Pacers were with a three-game losing streak.
So the Blazers were desperate to end their losing streak and they did that with the brilliant shooting from their guard Anfernee Simons.
Simons set a franchise record and also tied the NBA record by shooting three-pointers give a 133-112 win over the Pacers.
His brilliant shooting along with shooting from Damian Lillard and was key to the win.
This ended their five-game losing streak.
Both teams strong start
Both the teams made good start going head to head throughout the first quarter going 35-34.
Indiana Pacers took only a point lead over the Blazers for the first quarter.
CJ Mcollum started the game hitting a jumper for the Blazers and Pacers’ answered back with a jumper.
Portland trailed Pacers until 2:12 to end the first quarter then Anfernee Simons gave the lead to trail Blazers after heating from behind the line.
But the Pacers’ T.J. McConnell answer rightback with a jumper taking the lead back.
Both went back and forth to take the lead back with McDermott hitting the last shot for the quarter to give a point lead to the Pacer.
The Blazers took the lead for the rest of game on the short-handed Pacers
The Pacers without All-star forward and center who missed games due to injury failed to counter the offensive team led by Damian and McCollum.
As a result Blazers took lead 73-62 at the half.
The Pacers extended one-point lead in the 1st quarter to 3-point at the start of the second quarter.
In fact the Blazers again trailed the Pacers early into the quarter.
Then McCollum heat a three-pointer to tie the game with 8:16 left in the quarter.
And Lillard hitting a jumper in the next possession to give the Blazers lead.
Pacers hit back and game tied for about minute but soon the Blazer made a 21-5 run to take the lead.
Subsequently, the Blazers took 11-point lead into the third quarter.
Anfernee Simons made 12 points coming off the bench on 4-of-4 shooting from three point range to give the 11-point lead.

The Blazers continued to dominate in the third quarter as well with Carmelo Anthony and Simons hitting back-to-back three pointers.
They were on fire in the third quarter scoring 40-points in the third quarter. Along with Anthony’s jumper at the buzzer to make the score 113-78.
The Blazers were ahead by 33 points into the fourth quarter, the lead extended to 36 points at the start of the quarter.
Simons hit his 8th and 9th three-pointer without a miss setting a franchise record at the start of fourth quarter.
And also tied the NBA record with GSW’s Klay Thompson before Stephen Curry.
The Blazers’ III made buckets to end the quarter giving the 133-128 lead over the Pacers.
Anfernee Simons led the Blazers tonight setting the franchise record.
Trail Blazers needed a big win against the Indiana Pacers as the former were in a five-game losing streak.
Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum and all gave their best performance scoring high to give the point.
But tonight the player that shined the most was Anfernee Simons who made most of the threes.

The Pacers focused more on Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum during the game which gave other players chance to shoot.
Anfernee Simons took advantage the most of open looks from three of the given chance.
He also knocked down threes from anywhere no matter who defended him.
Trail Blazers head coach said, “He had a special night. Really soft touch, on the ones that weren’t all net, it looked like they just kind of curled in”.
Simons dropped a season-high 27 points on 9-of-13 shooting, including 9-three pointers without a miss.
At only 21-year-old tied a franchise record while hitting his seventh-straight three pointer.
He broke the record hold by Terry Porter who went 7-for7 in a single game.
Anfernee Simons (career-high 9 made threes on 10 attempts) opened 9-9 from three tonight, becoming the first player to do so since Klay Thompson on Jan. 21, 2019 (opened 10-10).

And became the player to hit most threes without a miss in the franchise history.
Trail Blazers guard Anfernee Simons said,”After that, it didn’t matter who was contesting and how close they were. If I was able to get it off, I knew it was going to go in”.
The Blazers will match up with the Memphis Grizzlies for the third time in the last week tomorrow night.
While the Pacers faces Brooklyn Nets on Friday, April 30.
