Denny Hamlin’s parents, Dennis and Mary Lou Hamlin have been married for 50 years. The couple has always been the true supporter of Denny and his racing dreams.

His father, Dennis Hamlin, was divorced and a father of two (Kim & ) when he met Mary, but that didn’t put off Denny’s mother.

Denny is the only biological child of Dennis & Mary. The couple also adopted two children, named DJ and David, and became a family of seven.

Regarding his latest race, Hamlin won a dramatic race against Kyle Larson, edging him in the final lap at Kansas Speedway. At Darlington, it wasn’t close as took the win. 

The veteran driver, Denny, is closing down on a record set by Junior Johnson of not having won a Championship even after winning 50 races. Hamlin is only one shy of it.

Denny Hamlin’s parents, Dennis and Mary Lou Hamlin did everything financially possible to help their son become a professional racer. 

They knew the talent was there, but it needed a backing, a financial one, that too a heavy one.

In an interview, Dennis Hamlin admitted he would cover his face every time Denny would race, thinking it might crash.

It wasn’t till later in Denny’s career that his parents were able to enjoy their son’s racing and achievements. All the sacrifices have led their son to be called one of the greatest of the sport.

Dennis Hamlin Mortgaged The Family House Twice For His Son

Dennis Hamlin worked as a service manager for Great Dane Trailers and later opened a trailer shop named Chesterfield Trailer & Hitch in 1996.

It was also the place where Dennis Hamlin received his formative years of learning in car and mechanics.

Right after finishing school, Dennis would arrive at his father’s trailer shop and help him with the repairs. Most of the time, he would work until 6 pm.

With Denny’s driving talent evident, Dennis decided to take a chance on it. He knew it would be expensive but was reluctant to let it go.

Dennis Hamlin mortgaged the family home twice and sold their precious antique cars to keep his son’s dream of becoming a racer alive. 

In 2019, Denny shared a for his dad on Father’s Day. He shared a gallery of images dating from the younger days to the current days, recalling Dennis talking about fatherhood and how you only understand it once you become a father. 

Mary Lou Hamlin Sold Her Classic Cars 

She met Dennis when she was 15. It was through Dennis’s older brother Mary came in contact with him. At the time, Dennis was 21 and was already divorced with two kids. 

Mary’s family, especially her mother, objected to her dating an older man, but Mary had her heart set on marrying him. The couple tied the knot in 1973, during Mary’s senior year in high school.

If Dennis put up the house for mortgages, then Mary contributed by selling her classic cars. She sold her ’67 Camaro to buy her son a race car. 

The family sold other classic cars, including the ’57 Chevy and the 1932 Ford. A small belief that their son could make it big time propelled the couple to keep investing in their son’s dream. 

Denny Hamlin: Wife And Kids 

The NASCAR driver, Denny Hamlin, isn’t married but is in an on-off relationship with his longtime partner, Jordan Fish. 

The status of their couple in 2026 remains unknown as both of them have unfollowed each other on Instagram.

In 2026, Fish had an outburst on Twitter and later deactivated her account. Fish, a fashion entrepreneur, posted two tweets signifying her breakup with Hamlin.

But since then, the couple hasn’t spoken about their relationship status. And though they might not be on compatible terms as partners, the same cannot be said about their parenting skills. 

Two Kids With Jordan Fish 

Denny Hamlin is a doting father to a couple of lovely girls. He shares both his daughters, Taylor and Molly, with Jordan. 

The pair was blessed with a daughter Taylor Hamlin in 2013.

The couple’s second daughter, Molly Hamlin, was born in 2017 and has started to become a regular at race tracks.

The couple has shared several pictures of their kids on their social media pages, with Denny sharing a recent snap of him and Molly visiting Lake Norman.
