With the soaring popularity of golfer Derek Ernst, fans are curious to know everything about him. The handsome golfer is married to Laney Ernst and has two beautiful daughters with her. 

Derek Ernst is an American  who plays on the PGA Tour. He got his first victory in the PGA Tour at the 2013 Wells Fargo Championship. 

The golfer played college golf at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he was named All-America four times. The player was also named twice as Mountain West Conference Player of the Year.

Ernst also represented the United States at the 2012 Palmer Cup.

Professionally, the player debuted at the Frys.com Open of 2012. After surviving all four stages, the American was successful in earning a 2013 PGA Tour card through qualifying school.

Derek was the second consecutive Q school graduate to win the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, after Billy Horschel.

At the 2005 Michelin Championship in Las Vegas, Derek was the first substitute to win a PGA Tour competition.

According to Golf Post, Derek currently ranks number 1496 in the official world golf rankings.

Laney Ernst is the loving wife of Derek and a mother of two daughters. The duo was engaged on July 4, 2015. After 3 months, on October 10, 2015, the couple exchanged their wedding vows.

The duo has two beautiful daughters, Daughtry Kay and Decker Caroline.

Daughtry is the older sister, who was born on July 11, 2016, and Decker Caroline is the younger one, born on November 15, 2018. 

The older sister takes part in cheerleading at her school and also plays golf, just like her father. Once when Decker went through an incident that lowered her confidence in playing golf, but her supportive parents motivated her, and she got back on track. 

Laney and Derek were best friends before they became lovers. The Ernst family is a dream family, for sure.

Born and raised in Abilene, Texas, Laney celebrates her birthday every year on September 14th. She attended Wylie High School for her early studies.

Ernst Has A Blurry Vision

Derek Ernst, at the age of 6, in grade two, suffered from an injury in his right eye. On Valentine’s Day, the golfer was making a present for his mother using a children’s tool to cut PVC pipe for a fence at his home.

In the process of making it, a piece of PVC pipe flew and hurt his right eye.

The 6-year-old Ernst needed 10 stitches. Eventually, Derek recovered but was left with weak depth perception, blurry vision, and scar tissue in the eye.

This didn’t stop the player from becoming a professional golfer. However, Ernst has mentioned that he gets asked a lot about which course changes he needs to make to take into consideration his blurry vision.

But the player says that he does not need any procedure. In an interview, the golf star covered his left eye and said that it gets blurry only if he does that.
