Murray started playing Tennis at the age of three when his mother, Judy, took him to play on the local courts.

At 8, he was already competing with adults in the Central District Tennis League.

Blessed with speed, power, and agility, Andy won three Grand Slams, two Olympic Gold medals, and a title at the ATP Finals, making him one of the sport’s premier players.

In 2004, the two Murray brothers partnered to the semi-final of the Junior US Open and called each other ‘Tight’ as a nickname.

Moreover, Andy’s elder brother is a married man and he tied the knot with Colombian-born Alejandra on 28 October 2010, where Andy was the best man.

The couple welcomed a beautiful daughter in 2026.

Horrific Experience During Their Childhood

Andy and Jamie witnessed something that no one should ever experience. Both brothers attended Dunblane Primary School.

It was just another day, they were attending classes as usual, until a man with a gun entered the school premises.

The Murray brothers were both present during the 1996 shootout when a gunman, Thomas Hamilton, killed 16 children and a teacher before shooting himself.

And having experienced this kind of horrific incident, Andy was saddened by the Uvalde, Texas, school shooting in 2026.

, he said that his kind of tragedy makes him “incredibly upset.”

“It’s unbelievably upsetting, and it makes you angry. I think there’s been over 200 mass shootings in America this year and nothing changes,” he said.

“I can’t understand that. That shouldn’t be happening to children and parents shouldn’t have to send their children to school and feel worried about something like that happening.”

The Murray Brothers Winning Titles

Rarely do we get to experience two family members excelling in the same sport simultaneously, achieving remarkable success together.

But, Jamie and Andy are winning titles in their respective games.

James, in 2026, has already won three doubles titles with his new partner Michael Venus. His first title of this year was at the Dallas Open.
