The professional basketball player Elena Delle Donne and her wife Amanda Clifton tied the knot in 2017 after four years of dating.
Elena Delle Donne is one of the most dominant players in the WNBA, playing for the Washington Mystics. She was born on September 5, 1989, in Wilmington, Delaware.
She currently plays alongside Natasha Cloud, Brittney Sykes, and for the Washington Mystics.
As a high school basketball star at Ursuline Academy in Wilmington, Delle Donne led Ursuline to three straight Delaware State Championship titles.

Delle Donne decided to play collegiate basketball at the University of Delaware in June 2009.
In addition, she won the gold medal with the USA’s women’s basketball team in the 2016 Olympics.

Besides that, Amanda served as a director of De11e Donne Academy, a basketball skills academy that organizes basketball events intending to create a fun environment for participants.

Delle Donne was named a Special Olympics Global Ambassador in February 2014. She has a special place in her heart for Special Olympics because her sister participated in the Motor Activity Training program.
Her older sister, Lizzie, was born deaf, blind, autistic, and also has cerebral palsy.
Elena herself struggled in her childhood due to her unusual height, so much so that doctors wanted to start her on injections to stunt her growth.

In addition, she served as Honorary Coach for the Special Olympics basketball team exhibition at the 2014 Big East Women’s Basketball Tournament.
The WNBA star looks forward to continuing to engage with Special Olympics while leading the efforts with the WNBA to help raise awareness for the sport of basketball within the Special Olympics.
