The former Spanish soccer player Fernando Hierro recently made a surprising announcement. He took to his social media handles to tell his fans he would be a father again with his new girlfriend, Fani Stipkovic, at age 55. Although the couple has not married, fans mistake her for his wife.

Hierro played as a defender and sometimes a defensive midfielder for the Spanish national soccer team for nearly fifteen years.

He is known for his scoring abilities despite being a defender. He appeared in 89 international games for Spain, scoring 29 goals from 1989 to 2002.

Aside from his impressive international career, Fernando was one of the most successful club players of his time. He appeared for Real Madrid in 439 games and scored over 100 goals.

Although he debuted in La Liga with Real Valladolid in 1987, Hierro later played for many years for Real Madrid and rose to fame, ultimately becoming one of the club’s legends.

He made his national team debut around the same time.

After announcing his retirement from all forms of soccer, he started his coaching career in 2014, first as an assistant coach at Real Madrid.

Furthermore, he currently works as a sporting director of Club Deportivo Guadalajara in Mexico.

Fani Stipkovic is a Croatian journalist, tv reporter, and show host. She was born on August 20, 1982, to her parents, Tina and Jerko Stipkovic, in Korcula, former Yugoslavia.

Raised in her hometown until he finished high school education, Fani later moved to Zagreb and received a bachelor’s degree in television and Press Journalism from the University of Zagreb in 2005.

Besides her journalism career, Fani did modeling and acted in commercials for various brands, traveling in different countries, including England, Italy, and Spain.

However, Fani gained prominence through tv reports and tv programs. She hosted a tv show named Red Carpet on Nova TV and Cool Tour, where she interviewed and interacted with celebrities, such as Christiano Ronaldo, Kobe Bryant, Roger Federer, etc.

Stipkovic moved to Spain later and attended the European University of Madrid, where she obtained a Master’s in Television Production and Management in 2014. 

She works actively for various big media houses, including Nova TV, FACE TV, and AMC. In addition, she sometimes writes articles for The Huffington Post, an American news website.

Everyone in the soccer community knows of Fernando Hierro’s relationship with the Croatian journalist Fani Stipkovic. The couple had known each other for a long time but started dating around 2026.

After three years of togetherness, Fernando Hierro posted a video of them together on his handle, telling the world that they will be parents.

Following the announcement, many soccer fans and his friends, including his former Real Madrid teammate congratulated them.

Fernando and Fani currently reside in Guadalajara, Mexico. She relocated to Mexico to live with her partner around Christmas last year.

Hierro Has Two Kids From His Previous Marriage

Fernando Hierro was previously married to Sonia Ruiz. The couple remained together for almost three decades until their relationship ended in 2019.

He has two kids- a son Alvaro and a daughter Claudia from that union. Despite the divorce, both kids have maintained good relationships with their parents.

Meanwhile, Hierro’s girlfriend, Fani, knows both his kids and greatly bonds with them.
