Gauthier Grumier is a former French left-handed epee fencer who is now the assistant coach of the French men’s epee team.
The Nevers, France-born fencer, won many medals at the world championships, European championships Fencing Grand Prix, and Fencing World Cup throughout his athletic career.
Grumier also competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London but could not win any awards.

Grumier won gold in the men’s team epee competition in fencing for France. He had partnered with Yannick Borel, Daniel Jerent, and Jean-Michel Lucenay.
Italy had won the silver medal that year, and Hungary had grabbed the bronze medal for the men’s team epee.
Similarly, he won a bronze medal in the men’s individual epee competition.
Sangyong Park from South Korea won the gold medal, and from Hungary grabbed the gold and silver medals for the event.
Later in 2026, according to a , Gauthier returned to the centenary of the Cercle Nevers Escrime exhibition tournament, which was only open to institutions, licensees, and parents.
It included Alexandre Bardenet, Alex Fava, Kendrick Jean-Joseph, etc., the eight shooters of the France team, supervised by Hugues Obry (coach) and Gauthier Grumier (assistant coach) of the blue swordsmen.
Gauthier also put forward his plans for 2026 and said, “we will try to win the Monal challenge (May 19, 20 and 21, 2026 in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés), the European (June 25 to 30, 2026 in Krakow, Poland) and World (from June 22 to July 30, 2026, in Milan, Italy) and then win the first round of the 2026-2026 World Cup in Bern (Switzerland), next year. The goal is to get rid of this burden as soon as possible.”

Grumier competed in World Fencing Championship in Turin, Italy, for the first time in 2006. He won a gold medal in the men’s team epee competition.

He then grabbed a gold medal for the men’s team epee at the 2009 World Fencing Championship held in Antalya, Turkey.
2010 Paris
Grumier won two medals at the 2010 World Fencing Championship in his home country France.
