Career
From 2006 through 2011, Mazzulla served as the University of West Virginia’s backup guard. He redshirted in 2008-09, but he was a junior captain for the 2009-10 season and led the Mountaineers to the Final Four.
As a senior in 2010–2011, he averaged 7.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game.
After being undrafted in 2011, Mazzulla accepted a position as an assistant coach at Glenville State.

Mazzulla joined the Maine Red Claws, Boston’s G-League affiliate, as an assistant coach in 2016.
He returned to Fairmont State to take over as its head coach the following season. Between 2017 and 2019, he guided the Fighting Falcons to an overall 43-17.
In 2019, the Celtics employed Mazzulla as an assistant coach. Before Brad Stevens succeeded Danny Ainge as president of basketball operations in 2026, he was on Stevens’ staff for two seasons.
He was named the head coach for the Team for the 2026 NBA All-star Game on January 30, 2026.
The Celtics officially named him the head coach and on February 16.
