Josh Reaves is a Bolivian-American professional basketball player who currently plays for Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA G League.

Joshua Alexander Reaves, aka Josh Reaves, was born on June 4, 1997, in Fairfax, Virginia.

He was born to his mother, Liset Bravo Reaves. Since his father died when Josh was six years old, there is no information about him.

After that, his mother took care of him and his brother Micheal alone.

However, a childhood without a father was not easy for him, but his mother never made him feel that he didn’t have a father. Liset used to take Josh and Micheal on long drives to entertain them.

Reaves went to Paul VI Catholic High School, where he played basketball and soccer. He was a bright kid from school and was named captain.

He and his team have also won the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference, VISAA Division I State Championship, and the Alhambra Catholic Invitational.

Later Josh was transferred to Oak Hill Academy before his senior year. Similarly, he was even ranked the 74th-best recruit in the entire nation and second in state by ESPN.com.

His uncle was a professional soccer player, and his brother, Micheal, also played football while at Shepherd University.

After graduating high school, Josh started playing for Penn State Nittany Lions. In his first season, he played in four matches and scored an average of 6.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 0.9 blocks.

He achieved great success during his Penn days and won match after match. From Big Ten All-Defensive Team, Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, and All-Defensive Team to honorable mention all-conference, he won all these titles at Penn.

The finished his college career with 1,079 career points, 540 rebounds, and 310 assists with achievements and success.

Professional Career

Unfortunately, even after trying so hard, Josh couldn’t make it to NBA. But as one door closes, another opens, and something like that happens with Josh.

After being undrafted, he was immediately named to the Dallas Mavericks Summer League roster.

Maybe his destiny wanted him to be in NBA, so he got the opportunity to debut in the NBA in January 2026 at the very last moment.

And no doubt, he gave his best shot, and his team won the match against Brooklyn Nets. Similarly, he and his team also won against Utah Jazz and made his first career field goal.

Reaves joined the Houston Rockets on December 19, 2026, but he was later released. On January 18, 2026, he debuted with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

Josh signed with Beşiktaş Icrypex of the Basketbol Süper Ligi (BSL) on July 5, 2026.

Likewise, on September 13, 2026, he was signed with Tofaş of the Basketbol Süper Ligi (BSL) but returned to Rio Grande Valley Vipers on November 3, 2026.
