Kenyon Jackson is an American professional football player who played defensive lineman at the University of Illinois. As of 2026, Jackson is the assistant defensive line coach for the Houston Texans.

Previously, Jackson was the assistant coach of the Miami Dolphins. He is a perfect fit as he played as a defensive line for the University of Illinois for four seasons (2016–19) under head coach Lovie Smith.

Kenyon Jackson started his footballing career at Parkview Magnet High School in Little Rock, Ark. He was active as a football player from an early age.

Jackson was inspired by his father, Keith Jackson, as he used to play professional football for Philadelphia Eagles, Miami Dolphins, and Green Bay Packers. Growing up, he was fascinated by his father’s skills and career.

In high school, Jackson was recruited by 247 Sports, ESPN and Scout as a three-star because of his fantastic game skills and techniques.

He was a great defense wall of his team and was ranked among the top 100 defense tackles by the officials. Jackson was ranked 67, 75, and 92 by 247Sports, ESPN.com, and Scout, respectively.

Besides being on the defensive list, Jackson also entered the top 15 recruits in Arkansas by ESPN and 247Sports.

In his junior year of high school, Jackson recorded 75 tackles, 14.5 sacks, and three forced fumbles, showcasing his exceptional football skills. 

Jackson entered ALL-STATE and ALL-Conference in 2014 and 2015 because of his performance in high school. He was an honor roll student in high school.

College Career

After graduating high school, Jackson joined the and played college football.

In the first year, Jackson started five games and played a total of 8 games as the defensive tackle. Sadly, he suffered an injury at the end of the eight games and could not play the last two matches.

However, he had an outstanding season with 18 tackles, carrying six solos on the field. The football player has a career-high of 4 tackles while playing at Michigan and three solo tackles at Rutgers.

Jackson recorded 22 tackles in 11 games as a sophomore in 2017, including seven solos, 2 TFLs, 1.5 sacks, and one pass breakup.

He earned his first solo sack and PBU against Indiana that same season. Jackson’s teammates elected him as a captain due to his outstanding abilities and performance.

Jackson participated in nine games as a junior in 2018, recording 18 tackles, 0.5 TFL, 0.5 sacks, 1 PBU, and one fumble recovery. He retrieved his first fumble against Minnesota on November 3, 2018.

In 2019, in his senior year, Jackson had two tackles and 0.5 TFLs, leading his team to victory by 24-23. He was the crucial part of the defensive tackles.

Coaching Career

After graduating from University in 2019, Jackson was recruited as the assistant defensive line coach by the Miami Dolphins. He coached the team for nearly two years and built a solid defensive line team.

In 2026, Jackson was recruited by the Houston Texans as the assistant defensive line coach.

It was his first coaching experience as a player in the National Football Association(NFL).
