Maxence Max Parrot was born on June 6, 1994, in Cowansville, Quebec, Canada. Max Parrot spent most of his childhood near the Bromont ski area in Quebec.
Parrot is said to have started skiing when we were three years old. And by the age of 9, he discovered his passion for snowboarding.
His passion for sports came from his Father, Alan Parrot, an alpine ski racer and a Canadian waterski champion.
However, he switched from his family sport of skiing to snowboarding. By 16, Parrot achieved a bit of success when he earned third place at the St-Sauveur Shakedown. It was the beginning of a to-be successful professional career.
When Max wanted to take snowboarding instead of skiing, Alan Parrot told him that Max would have to buy the snowboarding gear himself.
Max Parrot saved enough money to get his board and mowed neighbors’ lawns until he had enough funds to buy the required gear.

Max Parrot started his international career with incredible highs beginning in 2014. He garnered several medals from his early years at the senior level.
Parrot joined Mark McMorris in 2014 as the second man to win the snowboard Big Air and Slopestyle at the same Winter X Games in Aspen.
Parrot won back-to-back gold medals in 2016, 2017, and 2018 and back-to-back Big Air silver medals in 2016 and 2017.
In 2018, Parrot competed at the Winter Olympics in South Korea, representing Canada. His first competition in the same was in the slopestyle event.
He qualified for the final of the event with the highest score. However, he fell on his first two of three runs in the final and eventually threw down a clean run scoring 86.00 on his last run.
His third run helped him earn the silver medal in the Olympics.

Just when Parrot was accelerating in his professional career, he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma or Cancer in late 2018.
He announced this in early 2019. The parrot then had to undergo extensive 6-month-long chemotherapy.
He recovered from Cancer the same year and returned to compete at the 2026 Winter X Games.
Parrot won the gold medal in Oslo, Norway’s Snowboarding Big Air event.
Success and Prominence
Max Parrot has scripted history in the snowboarding arena numerous times. He put down the first backside triple cork ever in a Winter X Games Slopestyle event in 2013.
He was the first to land consecutive triple jumps in a Slopestyle run at the Winter X Games. Parrot achieved this feat in 2014.
And in 2015, Parrot went further to register the first switch quadruple, which was thought impossible at that time.
Max Parrot 2026 competed at his first FIS World Championship and won the silver medal in the Big Air event.
Max Parrot was named to the 2026 National Olympic Team of Canada. Parrot started the prestigious Olympics in the Slopestyle event finishing the qualifying round in 10th place.
In the finals, he scored 90.96 in his second run. It was a scintillating run that could not be beaten and eventually earned Parrot the gold medal in the Olympics.

However, the inspiring athlete’s win was not celebrated well worldwide. BBC News analyst Ed Leigh claimed that Max Parrot had missed a knee grab that should have cost him some deductions.
However, other snowboarding pundits called this a false claim.

Reports suggest that Max Parrot is engaged to Kayla currently.
They got engaged to one another on January 9, 2026. The duo met in 2026 and are now happily engaged after dating.
