The professional baseball catcher Mike Zunino is living every man’s dreams. He is married to his high school girlfriend turned wife and has two adorable kids.

Michael Accorsi Zunino, famous as Mike Zunino, currently plays for the Cleveland Guardians of Major League Baseball.

The 35 years-old previously played alongside , & for Tampa Bay Rays in the Major League.

Before Tampa Bay Rays, he featured for the Seattle Mariners as the Mariners drafted Mike as the third overall pick in the 2012 MLB draft.

Athletic since young, Zunino played baseball at Mariner High School in Cape Coral. In 2008, he participated in the AFLAC All-American High School Baseball Game.

Even though the Oakland Athletics selected him in the 29th round of the 2009 MLB Draft, he did not sign and chose to attend college.

The Florida-born player played college baseball with an athletic scholarship at the University of Florida in Gainesville from 2010 to 2012. 

Leading the Gators to three consecutive College World Series appearances from 2010 to 2012, Zunino was named to the Baseball America All-American team in 2011.

The Guardians player has been married to his high school sweetheart, Alyssa Zunino, for over ten years.

Mike tied the knot with the love of his life on October 6, 2012, in Florida. The couple have since welcomed two beautiful children, one son & one daughter.

Their son, Rhett Michael, was born on April 19, 2019, and their daughter, Paisley Grace, was born on March 28, 2026.

Mike is a family guy and tries to make time for the kids whenever possible.

Alyssa Ann Barry was born in Cape Coral, Florida, on March 29, 1991. She attended Mariner High School, the same as Mike, where they started dating.

Moreover, the mother of two barely gets time to watch over the shenanigans of the kids and looks after the kids full-time as a housewife while Mike fulfills his duties on the pitch. 

Alyssa is active on social media like  and  and considers herself a proud wife and a blessed mother.

She frequently updates the feed with photos of her husband and adorable children.

Mike Zunino was born to Greg and Paola Zunino on March 25, 1991. He was born and raised in Cape Coral, Florida, United States.

The player is of Italian descent, as his parents met each other in Italy in 1983. 

His father, Greg, played professional baseball for Fortitudo Baseball Bologna in Italy.

On the other hand, Mike’s mother, Paola, played as a catcher for the Italian national softball team.

Greg Zunino was drafted in the 31st round of the 1981 MLB June Amateur Draft.

Similarly, Mike’s uncle, Gary Zunino, was also into baseball and was a catcher in the St. Louis Cardinals system.

After five years in Italy, his parents returned to the United States. Greg worked as an area scout for the Cincinnati Reds in Cape Coral, Florida, and Paola started managing condominiums.

Mike is the only child of Greg and Paola and is very close to his parents. The parents have been supportive throughout his life and often visit the grounds to watch his matches.

It appears that Mike was destined to be a baseball player with solid support from a baseball-loving family and parents being sports veterans.
