Pedro Neto | Professional Career

The road to professional success for Pedro Neto began in his native Portugal. Under the tutelage of his uncle, Sérgio Lomba, he was able to join the Viennese local club.

He spent three years at Perspectiva em Jogo after making further development. The player was fully prepared to devote his life to the game at the early age of 13.

At 13, young Neto had a successful trial with S.C. Braga’s academy, a renowned sports team located close to his home.

Braga

Neto made his professional debut with Braga on May 7, 2017, while still a youngster. Pedro joined their reserves in the second half of a 2-3 Segunda Liga loss at home to Porto B.

The following weekend, in his first game with the first squad in the Primeira Liga, Pedro scored after just a few minutes on the field, leading the hosts to a 4-0 victory over Nacional. With that, he also set a new club record for the youngest goal scorer in the league.

On August 31, 2017, Neto and his teammate, Bruno Jordo, were traded to Italian club Lazio for two years, with the option to purchase both players for €26 million ($27.08 million).

Pedro Neto | Transfer

Despite prior reports of interest from Liverpool and Manchester United, Arsenal has recently emerged as a front-runner to recruit Pedro Neto.

Pedro offers many intriguing team options for a club like Arsenal. This is mostly because he can be used in a variety of positions.

Pedro brings presence both in and out of possession and can play on both the left and right.

But the underlying role is likely more significant.

Pedro was frequently utilized as a high-volume ball carrier out wide at Wolves, and that is likely a good fit for what Arsenal is doing with Bukayo Saka on the right flank right now.

Moreover, Pedro would be an excellent acquisition for Arsenal as he would add some natural breadth to complement their array of deft, jinking cut-inside-and-finishers.

The Portuguese flier signed a new five-year contract in March, so the Wolves winger would not be cheap. According to reports, bids will begin at £50 million ($59.39 million).
