Jay Monahan wife, Susan Monahan, is an optometrist at Ponte Vedra Eye Associates and has been working there since November 2012.

Jay Monahan, whose full name is Joseph William Monahan IV, was born on May 7, 1970. He currently serves as the fourth commissioner of the PGA Tour.

Monahan began working for the as The Players Championship’s Executive director in June 2008.

Later, he was appointed Senior Vice President for Business Development in a similar company.

Furthermore, he was promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer in March 2013.

In these positions, he oversaw various aspects of the tour’s operations, including business development, corporate marketing, partnerships, sponsor relations, retail licensing, and media sales.

Monahan served as Deputy Commissioner for two years before taking on the role of Chief Operating Officer.

In January 2017, Monahan was appointed in the role of commissioner after the retirement announcement of PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem.

Dr. Susan Monahan served as an Assistant Professor of Optometry at the New England College of Optometry, where she taught and provided clinical instruction in geriatrics and low vision.

Susan Monahan is actively involved in community outreach programs and provides specialized mobile eye care for homeless individuals in Boston.

She volunteers her time to provide eye care for the uninsured and underserved populations in northeast Florida through organizations.

In addition, she serves on the Board of Directors for the Community Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation and the Board of Directors for Vision is Priceless.

In her leisure time, she enjoys quality moments doing pilates, and horseback riding, traveling with her husband and two daughters, Pheobe and Sophie.

Jay Monahan’s salary information has not been properly disclosed. However, there have been conflicting reports on his pay over the years.

Monahan earned $3.9 million in 2017, according to the PGA Tour’s tax filing, which included bonuses and incentives.

In addition, according to a subsequent Wall Street Journal report, Monahan’s compensation for 2026 is $14.2 million.

However, the PGA Tour later told the WSJ that Monahan’s annual salary for 2026 would be $8.3 million.

Long-term incentive pay and future retirement benefits accounted for the remaining $5.9 million.

His salary has been the subject of speculative reports from a number of sources, but the numbers given have been inconsistent and vastly variable.

These projections cover the $5 million to $10 million and higher range.
