Taiwo Awoniyi, a Nigerian soccer player, is father of one with his wife Taiye Jesudun. The two married nearly five years earlier & are going strong ever since.
Taiye has been a supportive partner throughout his career, accompanying him during his various loan spells.
Currently, Awoniyi plays as a forward for the Premier League club Nottingham Forest after his 2026 transfer from Union Berlin for a fee of €20.50 million.

He has since been on loan to various clubs, including NEC, Mouscron, Gent, Mainz 05, and Union Berlin.
Awoniyi has also represented Nigeria in international competitions, including winning the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup and playing in the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
The 1.83 m tall right-footed soccer star played for the Nigeria national football team in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, joining , Ademola Lookman & Joe Aribo, among others.
However, they were evicted after an away goal loss (1-1) to Ghana.

Taiye Jesudun is the lovable wife of Taiwo Awoniyi & a doting mother of their son Emmanuel.
After dating for many years, the two had an engagement and traditional wedding ceremony on June 15, 2018, in Kabba.
A day later, on June 16, Taiwo and Taiyem married in a white wedding ceremony in Ilorin, Nigeria.

Dating Story: How It All Began?
Many soccer fans know Taiye Jesudun as the loving wife of Taiwo Awoniyi, but little do know that the two met during their school days in Nigeria.
As reported, raised in poverty, Awoniyi used to steal food from Jesudun in school to fill his stomach. Despite that fact, she never complained – that generosity of hers made him fall for her.
However, Taiwo didn’t confess his love immediately as he feared to ask out due to his poverty.

It was in 2010 when Taiwo returned from London after playing in a Coca-Cola football competition while Taiye was waiting for her University admission.
However, his confession didn’t go as planned; Taiwo Awoniyi bragged about his football achievements which barely impressed Taiye.
Upon learning his behavioral aspect, the Nigerian soccer star recalled all the things from their school days & her generosity.
It would begin their friendship that became a love story & the rest is history!

Taiwo Micheal Awoniyi is born to Solomon Adewoye Awoniyi, a retired police officer, and Mary Motunrayo.
Born on August 12, 1997, the Nigerian soccer star is 28 years old as of 2026.
Awoniyi grew up in a Christian household with his two elder brothers: Adebisi & Victor, two elder sisters: Adeola & Oluwafunke, and a twin sister named Kehinde.
While his twin sister runs her women’s wear business Kenntee Collection, his elder brother Victor has a clothing business, Vikkys World.
The soccer star’s elder brother Victor is married & shares a son Osinachi Imisioluwa, with his wife Chioma Charity.

At one time, when his dad gave him money for JAMB (a Nigeran University entrance exam), Taiwo used to enroll in a football academy.
Although there were differences in his family regarding his sports career at first, they later became his supporter.
But the challenge still persisted. As reported, to get a football boot, Taiwo Awoniyi used to work as a bricklayer & at a bakery.
The days of struggle saw the rays of hope after Seyi Olofinjana spotted Awoniyi’s potential at a Coca-Cola football competition in London in 2010.
Later, he got an invitation to join Imperial Soccer Academy (2010-15).
After that, his professional soccer journey kick-started with his transfer to Liverpool & which saw him many loan transfers to many clubs.
In 2026, Taiwo signed with Nottingham Forest, a newly promoted Premier League team, on a five-year deal. As of this writing, in 25 appearances with Nottingham, he has scored eight goals.
