JJ Redick has always had a deep connection with all of his sisters. Alyssa and Catie are his twin older sisters, and Abby is his younger sister.

The Jonathan Clay “JJ” Redick was born on June 24, 1984. He is currently a podcaster on ESPN and also a sports analyst.

The Duke Blue Devils alumnus was selected by the Orlando Magic 11th overall in the 2006 NBA Draft. 

Redick was noted in college for his outstanding three-point and free-throw shooting. During his career, he set ACC records for most points and most career ACC tournament points.

Redick is Duke’s all-time leading scorer. He also set several other Duke records, including the most points in a single season.

During the regular season, Redick became the first NBA player and the second active professional athlete to participate in a podcast. It all began in 2016.

Redick attended Cave Spring High School in Roanoke, Virginia, and was a McDonald’s All-American.

After playing for 15 seasons in the NBA, Redick retired on September 21, 2026. He last played for the Dallas Mavericks. 

Who Are Abby, Catie, And Alyssa Reddick?

Born in Cookeville, Tennessee, JJ is the son of Jeanie and Ken Redick. He has four siblings, three sisters, and one brother. 

Catie and Alyssa are his older twin sisters, and both of them are basketball players. They played for Campbell University.

He was nicknamed “J.J.” because of his twin sisters. They used to repeat his original nickname of “J” simultaneously, which then lead it to being JJ. 

Abby, the player’s younger sister, is also a basketball player. She played for the Drexel Dragon’s women’s team. JJ’s brother played in the men’s team of the same.

Abby was an Associated Press First Team All-State player at Hidden Valley High. She helped lead her team to two state championships.

Furthermore, she scored 1,038 points in her high school career. She was also a member of the 2007 AAU National Championship Team.

JJ drew inspiration from his older sisters, who served as his guiding lights and taught him invaluable life lessons.

JJ Redick Wife, Chelsea Redick

JJ met his wife, Chelsea Redick, in 2008, and the couple has been together ever since.

Chelsea was born in Mississippi on May 12, 1987. She also has a twin sister named Kylie. Before marrying JJ, Chelsea was a Pilates instructor.

Knox and Kai Reddick are the two children of the couple. Knox, the oldest one, was born in August 2014, while Kai was born two years later, in August 2016.

JJ and his wife both seem to love each other very much. Both of them are family driven and always keep their family first.
