Despite the unprecedented death of their father, Ty Gibbs brother Case, and Jett, along with their sister Elle continue to stay strong and focused on their mission in life.

is an American stock car racing driver who was born on October 4, 2002.

In the NASCAR Cup Series, he races full-time for Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR). He can be seen inside the No. 54 Toyota Camry.

The driver is also in NASCAR Xfinity Series in a part-time capacity again, racing for the JGR. There he can be seen inside the No. 19 Toyota Supra.

Gibbs has won the 2026 ARCA Menards Series and the 2026 NASCAR Xfinity Series.

He is the grandson of Joe Gibbs, a current NASCAR team owner and former NFL coach.

Ty’s fascination with racing came from a very young age, as he had already begun racing shifter karts at Motorplex in the summer of 2015 at the age of 13.

Recently started an accidental multicar wreck in Coca-Cola 600, of which Ty was a casualty.

Ty has three siblings altogether. He has two brothers, Case and Jett, and one sister, Elle. 

Case goes to Providence Day School, which is located in their hometown of Charlotte, NC. He is currently in his sophomore year and is due to graduate in 2026.    The brother is actively playing both baseball and football there. He is a member of the school’s varsity baseball team, where he wears the #20 jersey.    Similarly, he is also on the school’s varsity football team, where he wears the #52 jersey.    Jett, who is the other brother and appears to be the youngest among them, goes to the same school as Case.

The younger one has also managed to earn himself a place in the school’s varsity football team, where he plays the role of a middle linebacker. 

He is currently in his 8th year and is set to graduate by 2027. 

There is not much information about Elle, who is Ty’s sister, as it is assumed that she likes to keep inside her private bubble. 

The Tragic Fate Of Ty Gibbs Father Coy Gibbs

Ty draws a lot of inspiration in life from his father, the late Coy Randall Gibbs, who left this world on November 6, 2026.

Ty’s father was a co-owner of Joe Gibbs Racing as well as an American driver and assistant coach for the Washington Redskins.

He was the child of Joe Gibbs, a Pro Football Hall of Famer and five-time NASCAR Cup Series champion.

After ending his collegiate football career at Stanford University, Coy Gibbs joined his father’s team.

Coy worked in the front office of Joe Gibbs Racing and also participated in team racing.

The news of Coy Gibbs’ passing shook the NASCAR community as it was on the day of the final race of the season.  Before the race began, there was a moment of silence to honor his memory.

Just hours before the race, Daniel Hemric took over the No. 23 vehicle from Ty Gibbs. His 23XI Racing team cited “a family emergency” as the reason for the change.
