The Liverpool winger Luis Diaz’s parents, Luis Manuel Diaz and Silenis Marulanda raised four kids in Colombia. Luis’ brother Jesus Diaz plays for Barranquilla.

The winger from Colombia has his mural painted right outside his family home, and his parents wake up to its sight every day.

His younger brothers have followed in his footsteps.

Considered not good enough by few scouts to reach the top of the game because of his physicality, Diaz has proved many doubters wrong.

The 26-year-old was a reason for a transfer war between Pool and Spurs last season.

This season he has made 25 appearances scoring eight goals and providing five assists. His latest goal came against Spurs in a dramatic 4-3 victory, in which and were also the scorers.

Luis Diaz’s parents, Silenis Marulanda and Luis Manuel Diaz live in Colombia despite their son’s success in the UK.

Luis Manuel was his son’s first soccer coach. The family lived in Barrancas, a rural town where jobs are hard to come by.

The coal mines were the only place that could give employment to people living around the area, and it was also the place where his father would train kids in football.

No. 23 had many doubters surrounding him because of his short and thin stature. But his father, Manuel Diaz, always believed he would make it to the top flight.

And Luis has paid off his father’s belief in him. The winger hasn’t looked back since signing with Atletico Junior in 2017. In 2026, he was involved in the transfer war between Tottenham and Liverpool.

The latter came out on top, but his father, on a radio station, said the Spurs were the first to approach him but weren’t quick enough to get his signature.

His mother, Silenis Marulanda, didn’t want her son to focus on soccer. In fact, she wanted him to stay home and build a bond with his books and go to school.

That didn’t quite happen, but Silensis has certainly warmed up to her son’s career choice. In an interview with the Colombian magazine, Silenis said his teammates at Liverpool helped him settle well.

The Colombian star also assured his mom that the Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp, likes him and encourages him to play well.

Last year in 2026, his parents tied the knot after 30 years of living together. Silenis and Luis Manuel hadn’t exchanged their vows in church, which they did so surrounded by all four of their children.

Brother Jesus Diaz Plays For Porto B

Luis Diaz has two brothers- Jesus and Roller Diaz. Both his younger brothers are soccer players, but Jesus has taken major strides in his playing career in recent seasons.

Roller plays for Academica Coimbra’s U-23 team and, last year, shared a of him and Luis dancing during their holiday. The video now sits at 6.1 million views on TikTok.

Born on May 14, 2004, Jesus Diaz is the youngest brother of the Liverpool player. Jesus began his soccer career with Barranquilla and was quickly snapped up by Porto on a loan move last year.

Earlier this year, Jesus featured in a game against Liverpool U-19 in the UEFA Youth League. He came in as a substitute in the stoppage time and later featured in the penalty shootout.

Jesus stepped up to take the deciding penalty but sadly missed it. Liverpool took home the victory, with Jesus being the last player to leave the pitch.

There isn’t certainty whether Porto will make Diaz permanently shift to Portugal. But if he continues to make progress, then who knows, maybe one day we can see two Diaz brothers together in the Premier League. Never mind if it’s together or against.
