Mario West entered the NBA arena in 2007 through the NBA draft. However, he went undrafted that year.
Moving on, he stepped into the Atlanta Hawks training camp as a free agent. By the 2009-10 season, Mario had entered the NBA Development League for the Maine Red Claws.
Later in 2011, he signed in with the New Jersey Nets, and just three months later, in June, he entered the Cocolos de San Pedro de Macorís of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto.
Right then, he joined Tezenis Verona the same year before moving to the Philippines. During his timeframe in the Philippines, Mario played for the Meralco Bolts.
In 2013, West signed a deal with the Mexican team Fuerza Regia. Later, he remained in Argentina for the 2015–16 season and played for the Juventud Sionista.
